Sew-alongs are a great way to connect with other sewists, try new techniques and stay motivated to complete some amazing projects. Sadly, a lot of people no longer have the expertise of their local quilt store or drapery. We hope we can give you the expert knowledge and advice even though we very rarely get to meet you in person.

General Information and FAQs about our Sew-alongs

Do I need to purchase a copy of the pattern?

Yes, all participants require their own original copy of the pattern. The designer has spent many long hours creating, writing, proof reading and testing the pattern. The best way for us to recognise their hard work and intellectual property is to always purchase an original copy (or PDF) from reliable sources and not accept photocopies or other unauthorized copies.

I think the project may be too advanced for me. Is there any way I can ‘try before I buy’?

Most designers will have sample or free patterns on their website. We will endeavor to have a tester block available for free for anyone to try the techniques.

The Sew-along has already started, is it too late to join?

It is never too late to begin a new project. Some projects will be suitable to start with the current block or section. Others may require you go back to the initial tutorial and begin there.

Is this project suitable for my skill level?

We encourage all experience levels to participate in our sew-alongs. All of our tutorials will contain step by step instructions and some how to videos. Join our Facebook group for the particular sew-along for more inspiration and assistance.

What other supplies and equipment do I need?

The complete list of supplies and requirements are listed in each individual project.
